About Us
Polaris Community is one of the UK’s largest children’s services providers, with roots in the UK’s first independent fostering provider. Delivering fostering, residential care, specialist education, adoption, therapy and leaving care services across the length and breadth of the country, our community of 19 brands supports children and young people from Glasgow to Plymouth, Belfast to London.
As part of an exciting period of growth, we're creating this brand-new role to strengthen and expand our Estates and Compliance function. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced estates professional to make their mark while helping to create safe, welcoming and nurturing homes where children and young people can thrive.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our homes provide safe, high-quality living environments, driving improvements across the estate and helping to create places where children and young people feel safe, supported and able to achieve their full potential.
About the Role
Love solving problems, improving properties and making a real difference? As our Residential Estates Manager, you'll be at the heart of ensuring our children's homes are safe, compliant and well maintained.
You'll take ownership of a diverse residential property portfolio, leading estate inspections, managing maintenance and improvement projects, overseeing contractors and driving compliance across our homes. No two days are the same. One day you'll be planning a major refurbishment, the next you'll be working with operational teams to deliver improvements that directly enhance the lives of children and young people.
This is a highly visible role where you'll build strong relationships, influence change and help shape the future of our estate. If you're someone who spots issues before they become problems, thrives on variety and gets genuine satisfaction from seeing projects through to completion, you'll fit right in.
Simply put, you’ll play a key role in creating safe, high-quality homes where children and young people can flourish.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estate inspections and condition reviews across the residential property portfolio
- Manage maintenance, repairs and property improvement projects
- Oversee contractors and suppliers to ensure quality outcomes
- Drive property compliance across children’s homes
- Plan and support refurbishment and improvement projects
- Work closely with Registered Managers and operational teams to identify and deliver property improvements
- Support capital projects from planning through to delivery
What We’re Looking For
We're looking for a proactive, hands-on estates professional who thrives on solving problems and making a difference. You'll bring strong property, maintenance and compliance experience, with the drive to keep our children's homes safe, welcoming and operating at their best.
You'll be organised, solutions-focused and confident building relationships, managing projects and driving improvements across multiple homes.
Most importantly, you'll be passionate about creating environments where children and young people feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
